Why TAMU Dance Program?
The technical focus of the Dance Program at Texas A&M University is ballet and modern dance. The program integrates lecture classes, technique classes, choreography, performance, and dancer wellness to provide its students with a fully developed understanding of the body and how it moves. The Department of Health and Kinesiology offers three different degree options in dance: BS Kinesiology - Dance Science, University Studies - Dance Concentration, and a Dance Minor. All students seeking an education in dance must complete an application and audition process. These auditions allow the Dance Faculty to evaluate a student's technical level in ballet and modern and access their ability to complete the coursework. Students will receive the results of the audition about 2 weeks after the audition (digital auditions may take longer).

Didn't get into A&M?
Don't fret. There are many other options for admission into TAMU. Click here and look under the heading Other Pathways for more information about programs TAMU offers to its prospective students. With programs like Blinn Team, Gateway, and PSA, your dreams of being an Aggie Dance Program student are not over. In fact, with both Blinn Team and Gateway, you can begin your dance major classes in your first semester. Contact your college advisor or Christine Bergeron (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information about how these programs can get you on your way to being a full-time Aggie Dance Student.
Can't attend one of our regular auditions?
Although attending one of our scheduled audition dates is ideal sometimes it just isn't possible. We don't want to miss you so look into attending either the Day of Dance or the Collegiate Dance Intensive which can serve as your audition for admittance into the upcoming fall or spring semester. You must be a tranfer student or current high school senior to be eligible for this option.
If you still can't make it try auditioning through our digital audition. Click here for more information.
